Offering an awesome nightlife scene, one thing is for sure, Taipei has plenty of places to keep you entertained. Whether by its atmosphere, the type of music, its decoration, the drinks offered or the clientele (students, locals or foreigners), each club and bar that we present in this article is unique.
Various theme nights or events are organized in clubs and bars like the famous Ladies Nights which takes place every Wednesday in the majority of clubs, offering free entry and drinks for women all night long. But the most important thing to know is that everyone is ready to party and drink all night!
Here are 7 of our best places to go when you want to dance and drink for a night out with friends:
1. Triangle Taipei
Located near the Yuanshan MRT Station, the small size of the triangle-shaped place (hence its name), industrial style decoration and style make it very intimate and unique.
Famous foreign spot, Triangle is a dance bar held by a French with different themed nights depending on the day of the week. The club hosts awesome DJs who like to mix there. During the week, do not miss the Wednesday student party with free entry all night for students and ladies + free select drinks for ladies until midnight!
In the club, the music is awesome and varies according to the theme of the event. To quench your thirst, the bar offers a vast variety of cocktails and drinks at very reasonable prices, all accompanied by a very friendly and helpful staff.
The excellent sound system, the spacious dance floor, the efficient waiters and the very good performances of DJ’s is a perfect combo to make you dance all night!
Regarding the price? Generally, count NT$300 for an entry + 1 drink (except special events). Here are the opening hours:
|Wednesday:||8pm – 2am|
|Thursday:||8pm – 2am|

2. The Wave Club Taipei
Located in the ATT4FUNs complex in Xinyi District, the Wave Club is known as one of the nightclubs in Taipei offering the most interesting open bar for a small budget.
Wave Club is easily recognizable by its entrance in one corner of the ATT4FUN building and the many people lining up outside. After queuing and past the entrance, the bouncer will show you an elevator to access the floor where the dancefloor is located.
There, most of the music is EDM, house, and hip-hop. At Wave, many theme nights are organized.
The club is also known for its Ladies Night with an open bar that takes place every Thursday night. Women enter for free and men must pay NT$400. Be careful, often, to get free entry or discount price, you must respect the rules set up for the evening such as dress code or photo sharing on social networks.
The open bar offers a wide choice of good quality drinks and the waiters do not skimp on the amount of alcohol, as can often be the case in other clubs.
The other advantage of the Wave club is that it is frequented by many locals. So you can make interesting meetings and practice your Chinese.
Beware, however, the club tends to be crowded on the weekends. Plan to come early in the evening or opt for parties during the week.
The entrance fee includes a wide selection of drinks in all you can drink, provided to keep his glass throughout the evening. They offer a discount if you enter in a club before 11pm. Generally, here are the rates according to the weekdays and the weekend:
– Weekdays after 11pm: NT$700 for men and NT$400 for women. Except on Thursday

3. 45酒吧 (Bar 45)
Original pub, whose building was once a former Chinese traditional medicine store, Number 45 is a famous place despite its small size. Located in the NTNU (National Taiwan Normal University) district, it is frequented by many foreigners and local students.
Concerning drinks, there is the choice. Whether you prefer rather cocktails, cheap beer or soft, they offer a wide choice of beverage (with happy hours every night), and also snacks like fries with salsa sauce.
Being a bar whose clientele is mostly student, the prices are very affordable.
There is not really a crowd on weekdays, but the bar seems all time quite busy. On the other hand, on Saturday’s night, you have to push your way through the huge crowd to join the bar. But in each case, whether it is full or not, the atmosphere in this small bar is always excellent and relaxed!
As the bar is vaguely indicated on Google Maps, here are some directions to get there. When you are on Heping East Road, locate the small sign “45” on the old building, then take the narrow stairwell. Here you are. Have fun!
Open 7 days a week, from 6pm to 4am.

4. Babe 18
Babe 18 is usually frequented by an audience of young night owls. Although the place is located in the basement, the size of the dance floor is more than reasonable, with a great stage for excellent DJs and many private spaces.
Whether you go there during in weekdays or the weekend, the queue is often very long. If you go out with several friends, we recommend you to reserve bottles in advance as well as a table to be able to pass the queue quickly.
The prices are quite affordable and much more profitable than consumed by the glass (except special evening with open bar). In the latter case, it works like in most other clubs and bars in Taipei: You pay a special ticket at the entrance and then exchange it for a drink with one of the bartenders. As long as you keep your glass, you can bring it back to the bartender to fill it up and drink all night. If you do not want to bother holding your drink all evening, you can ask for a bracelet in exchange and later come back for your drink.
Is there a dress code? Let’s say, classy and casual. The shirt tucked into the pants and shoes are far from mandatory but stay away from shorts and sandals. Side atmosphere, the music will appeal to all the worshipers of EDM and Hip-Hop, people are friendly and especially ready to party!
